Glenice Marie  Shepherd (Tully)
Glenice Marie Shepherd, 67, of Gardner, passed away very peacefully at her home September 27, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 W Main, Gardner, KS. Burial follows at Gardner Cemetery. Visitation 5:00-8:00 pm September 29, 2009 with 8:00 pm Rosary at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cedar Cove Feline Sanctuary / Louisburg or Olathe Hospice. Condolences may be sent to www.brucefuneralhome.com.

Glenice was born November 25, 1941 in Herndon, KS to John Phillip and Helen Marie Walkensdorfer Tully. She grew up in Dodge City; graduating from Dodge City High School and attended Dodge City Community College. She married John H. Shepherd on July 15, 1961 in Dodge City, and they enjoyed a 48 year partnership. John took a teaching position in Collyer, KS and then they moved to Gardner in 1966. Glenice ran an in-home daycare, was Office Manager at SDI in Olathe, was employed by the Gardner Medical Center as a Patient Rep in the mid 80’s, worked at Dazey Products in Gardner and was the bookkeeper at Golden Goose for eight years, retiring 2005. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Domino Club, and a former member and officer of Docey Dandies. She enjoyed Plum Creek Burger Night, clipping coupons, growing flowers, gardening, and was a “Video Poker Queen.” She dearly loved her family and her kitties. Her friends were all very important to her and she will be dearly loved and missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Glenice is survived by her husband John of the home; daughters Rhonda Katherine Morse and husband David and Rebecca Marie Womack all of Olathe, KS; siblings Pati Drewer and Gary Tully both of Loveland, CO; grandchildren Alexander, Brandon, Rachel and Cody; and her special kitties Sugar and Spice.
