Condolence From: Dean and Irene Kehoe
Condolence: We are so sorry to hear about Darlene's untimely death. She was always caring, considerate and helpful. I saw she and Barbara last summer and she was chatty as usual. She always had a smile. The entire class of 1959 will miss her. We will be leaving on Sunday morning to go out of town but want Bill and each of their children to know how much we thought of Darlene. Also want Barbara, her sister, to know how much we thought of her. God Bless each of you.

Condolence From: Modena (Thompson) Williams
Condolence: My prayers are with the family in the loss of wife, mother and sister.
I first met Darlene when we were in the 3rd grade. She quickly became a very good friend. Many summer days were spent playing baseball and she knew the rules better than any of us. Darlene and another classmate (both were lefties) taught me to shoot pool and for years I shot pool left handed, which amused many people since I was right handed. We went to see Elvis Presley's first movie, "Love Me Tender" together and for weeks went around humming the theme song to our parents dismay. We spend many nights at slumber parties, discussing boys, hair styles, clothes and the usual girl things. We also enjoyed cooking together and being in 4-H. Darlene was such a fun person and this wonderful trait followed her into womanhood.
She will be missed by all her friends which there are many. My prayers are with the family and may your memories help you through your loss.

Condolence From: Sharon (Hall) DeFreece
Condolence: Bill's and my prayers and thoughts are with your whole family. I have so many wonderful memories of Darlene starting in our 7th grade year at Gardner. Practically, our whole class learned and square danced at the Morning Grange; went to Teen Town and and 4-H. In fact, Darlene and I worked on some 4-H projects together, one of which was an ironing demonstration. We had great times together at high school, especially, the senior trip to New Orleans. Over the years, we were able to watch our children go to the same school and grow up in our town.

My husband and I have fond memories of Darlene and Bill at the American Legion and I am certainly going to miss her at our table at the all-school reunion.

Rest in Peace, Darlene. We all love you and will miss you.
