Zachary Wellington Leonard, age 26, of Olathe, KS, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at his home. A service will be planned in the future. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com.

Zachary was born one of a set of triplets in Las Vegas, NV, on January 14, 1997, to Mark J. Leonard and Nancy A. (Nighbert) Leonard, and grew up in Kansas. He graduated from Olathe East High School in 2015. Zachary was working on his Aviation Maintenance trade school degree at the Aviation Institution of Maintenance (AIM) in Kansas City, MO. He enjoyed U.S. military history and video games. At age 11, he was diagnosed with brain cancer, and so chose to donate his body to the University of Kansas School of Medicine (Willed Body Program) to help further cancer medical research for the future. This was such a selfless gift from a young man who dealt with so much in his short life, and he knew how much it would mean to help others.

Zachary is survived by his father, Mark J. Leonard of Westminster, CO; his mother, Nancy A. Leonard of Olathe, KS; his brother, Christian W. Leonard of Overland Park, KS; his sister, Alaysa L. Leonard of Olathe, KS; his grandfather, John Wellington Leonard; and his aunt, Tracey Van lwaarden. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kay Leonard, and uncle, Troy Leonard.
