Waltraud “Trudy” Carpenter was born in Bammental, Germany in June of 1957. It was there that she spent her childhood being raised by her parents Rolf and Anne Lang. It wasn’t long until she grew up into a young lady that was engrained with the faith, and a love of serving others that her parents demonstrated daily. She then decided to pursue her own dream, the American dream, and started an adventure abroad. It was shortly after leaving her home that she started a life and family of her own in Kansas. Being a mother to Erika, Christopher, and Becky became her passion, while her full-time job was in banking. Her marriage to Stephen was what she had always hoped for. She spent most of her life doing just that, raising her kids and loving her family. All the while, being a beacon of faith in the New Apostolic Church. Although she eventually divorced, she never stopped loving and raising her children to be the hard-working, strong-willed kids they are today. As anyone acquainted with Trudy already knows, she was frugal with her money, but excessive in giving to others. Trudy loved to bake, but more importantly, loved to share the fruits of her labor. One loaf of zucchini bread for her, four more to others. She made sure your stomach was full as well as your heart. She always had an ear to listen or a should to lean on.  She often would hide her pains, but always shared her joys and pride in her three kids.

Matthew 25: 31-40. “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

Although we can’t make sense of it, we are consoled knowing she’s watching over us alongside Oma and Opa, still sharing the gospel. We will always carry you in our well-fed hearts, and thank you for loving us.
