Walter John Farrell, Jr., 80, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away February 4, 2022 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Walter was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 9, 1941 to Walter John and Kathleen (Golden) Farrell, Sr. He graduated from Kenton High School, Kenton, Ohio. Walter was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He married Janet M. Peterson on April 22, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri. He worked at Sprint in telecommunications for 41 years. He recently retired after working for seven years as a custodian at Spring Hill Middle School. When someone would ask Walter if they could get him anything, his favorite response was “ Give me the winning numbers to the lottery.” He was known for being a caregiver to the neighborhood dogs and cats. Walter enjoyed fishing. His passion was building large model airplanes. He was a member of the Ocheltree Baptist Church.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kathy Marie Farrell, granddaughter Samantha Price and great-grandson Jack Bennett. He is survived by his wife (The Momma Person) Janet of the home; daughters: Ruth Ann Jordan, Connie Farrell, Susan Phoenix, Linda Farrell, Sabrina Farrell, Erica Kent and Katie Farrell; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
