Travis was born on December 9, 1999 in Loveland, Colorado, later moving to Louisiana and Missouri before settling in Kansas in 2010. In 2011, Travis moved to Spring Hill and immediately became friends with everyone he met. A huge smile and a firm handshake were his trademarks, while opening his heart to help anyone who needed it became his legacy.

While Travis was an avid gamer, his passion was helping others in any way he could. It did not matter if it was one of his best friends at his door, one of his hundreds of online friends, or someone he just met, being there for others was woven into every fiber of who he was.

Service to others extended to his community as well, volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce, helping at city events, and volunteering to help coach soccer are just a few examples. Travis’ passion for service also extended to his career, serving the residents of Miami County as a Deputy Jailer for the Miami County Sheriff’s Office was the start of his career. Becoming a police officer and later a United States Marshall were his longer-term goals.

Travis is survived by his father, Steve Ellis of Spring Hill, Kansas, his brothers, LCpl. Justin Ellis, USMC, Twentynine Palms, California; Timothy Pease and sister-in-law Anais, Springfield, Missouri; and Jorge Hernandez, Spring Hill, Kansas. He is also survived by his mother, Michelle Clark, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, whom he loved very much. His huge smile and hugs will be forever missed.
