Steven Lee Newton, 59, Gardner, Kansas passed away at his home on Monday, August 29, 2022. Private family service at a future date. Steven was born on October 17, 1962 in Concordia, Kansas to Gerald and Lois (Sallman) Newton. Steven graduated from high school in North Kansas City.  He was self-employed as a home energy inspector. Steven married Mary Evans on August 20, 1988 in Olathe, Kansas. They moved to Gardner, Kansas in 1989.  Steven liked to BBQ and garden; his specialty was smoked ribs and fresh tomatoes. He also enjoyed art, especially drawing.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Mary of the home; daughters Stephanie Newton, Gardner, Kansas and Melissa Newton, Kansas City, Missouri; brother Raymond Newton, Topeka, Kansas; sisters Diana Newton and Susan Barnard both of Topeka, Kansas and one granddaughter.
