Obituary for Sharon Lynne Kramer

Sharon Lynne Kramer, 77, of Gardner, KS passed away Jan. 2, 2020. Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 am Sat., Feb. 1, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church, 650 E. Madison, Gardner, KS. Visitation before the service from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope House, Kansas City, KS, Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, Ottawa, KS or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Sharon was born January 5, 1942 in LeLoupe, KS to Clarence “Brownie” and Cleo Emily (Cannady) Houdashelt. She attended grade school in Ottawa, KS before moving to Gardner in 1954. Sharon graduated from Gardner High School in 1960. She married Marion Kramer on April 2, 1988 in Gardner, KS. Sharon was the Human Resource Director for Cramer Athletic Products, Gardner, KS for 49 years before retiring in 2014. She was currently serving as President and was past Treasurer of Gamma XI Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi in Gardner, KS. A past member of Southwest Johnson County Economic Development Corp., the Human Resources Association of Johnson County and Ottawa United Methodist Church.

Sharon was a force to be reckoned with. When she set her mind to a project it was game over. She loved to garden. Her flowers were a passion and a source of pride as she worked tirelessly to make sure everything was “Martha Stewart” perfect. Passing by her house was always a pleasant experience seeing all she had done. She decorated her world both inside and out to create a peaceful and beautiful world in which to live. Sharon was a truly kind person with a gift of a pure and giving heart. She helped so many people when they needed her. Sharon loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure and was always proud of every aspect of their lives. She also considered many others as part of her extended family. Sharon will be truly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Betty Houdashelt. She is survived by her husband, Marion; daughter, Tami (Anthony) Bartolomi, Gladstone, MO; son, Christopher Hayes, Gardner, KS; stepchildren: Rachel (Sean) Przybyl, Chesapeake, VA and Kevin (Renee) Kramer, Gardner, KS; eight grandchildren: Justin, Zachery, Kayla, Steven, Alicia, Sarah and Derick; siblings: Clarence Jr. “Rick” Houdashelt, Gardner, KS, Connie Wright, Edgerton, KS, Sue Petersen, IA and Art and Steve Jones, Ottawa, KS .
