Ruth Marie Burd, 71, Gardner, Kansas passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at her home. A private family memorial service is planned at a later date. Ruth was born in LaCrosse, Kansas on November 15, 1948 to Charley and Marie (Best) Morrison. She grew up in LaCrosse and graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1966. She married Richard R. Burd on June 28, 1969 in LaCrosse. Ruth was a beautician for 44 years, working in Bison and LaCrosse, Kansas as well as Shear Magic in Norton, Kansas. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Norton, Kansas. Ruth and Richard moved to Gardner, Kansas six years ago to be near family. Ruth was active with the Gardner Museum.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and sister Betty Basgal. She is survived by her husband Richard of the home; children Todd Burd, Gardner, Kansas and Kimberly Burd, Wichita, Kansas; sister Judy Kennedy, Goldsboro, North Carolina and grandchildren Zaylin and Charley.
