Obituary for Robert Lee Eaton Jr.
Robert Lee Eaton, Jr., 74, of Gardner, KS passed away Aug. 11, 2020 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, KS. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 am Sat., Aug. 22, 2020 at Hesper Friends Church, 2355 N. 1100th Rd., Eudora, KS. Robert was born Feb. 26, 1946 in Jackson, Mississippi to Robert Lee Eaton, Sr. and Antonia (Valdez) Eaton. He was a life-long Gardner resident; graduating from Gardner High School in 1964. Robert served in the US Air Force from 1965-1969. He married Sandra “Cherry” Stanley on March 23, 1974 in Gardner, KS. Robert worked for Deluxe Printing as a manager for 30 years from which he retired. He also worked for the American Academy of Family Physicians in Leawood, KS for 17 years. Robert was a member of the Hesper Friends Church and the Olathe American Legion #153. He was very artistic, enjoyed golf and travel. Robert was an excellent handyman and had a neat sense of humor. He will be missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Gaillot. Robert is survived by his wife, Cherry, of the home; son, Brian and wife Jenny Eaton, Fuquay-Varina, NC; two grandchildren: Sam and Max; siblings: Rose Roan, Brookfield, WI, Ruth Randall, Gulfport, MS, Alice Millard, Vancouver, WA, Johnny Eaton, Gardner, KS and Juanita Locke, Olathe, KS.
