Pauline Joyce Dana was born on the family farm near Gardner, Kansas. Growing up she attended Bethel Methodist Church and the one-room Waverly school. She became active in Pioneer 4H. She married Dick Perdue of a neighboring farm and together they had six children, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Later in life she worked as a nurse’s aide, was in charge of the Bible department at the Christian Book and Gift Shop in Olathe, was a unit secretary in the Olathe hospital, sold real estate and Avon, and also filled in for different secretarial jobs with the Olathe Public Schools.

She was an excellent seamstress and often made her children’s clothes. She enjoyed crocheting and participated in the women’s prayer shawl group. She also participated in the Athena Greater Federated Women’s Club in Gardner, Kansas. She enjoyed some traveling. One of the highlights of her life was taking the whole family on a trip to Branson, which was a favorite destination of hers. Pauline never met a stranger and always would greet you with a big warm smile. Grew up down the road from her family's farm and enjoyed getting to know her dad a lot. She reminded me a lot of him. Sending out much love to her family from myself and my family.
