P. Franklin Lane, 83, Olathe, Kansas passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Prairie Center Church of God, 105 S. Montclaire Dr, Olathe, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be left at Arrangements: Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, Kansas 66030 (913) 856-7111.

Franklin was born on July 19, 1936 in Olathe, Kansas to Lloyd Edward and Maude Albertina (Rolland) Lane. He was a lifelong Johnson County resident, graduating from Olathe High School in 1954. Franklin married Barbara J. Thomas on June 30, 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a farmer and enjoyed time spent with his family traveling. Franklin was a member of the Prairie Center Church of God, Olathe, Kansas.

Franklin is survived by his wife Barbara of the home; children: LaCinda (Richard) Newson, Olathe, Kansas, F. DeWayne (Staci) Lane, Knoxville, Tennessee, Wesley Lane, Olathe, Kansas and Rollin Lane (Rochelle) Lane, Olathe, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Lloyd Edward Lane, Jr.

Fishing with him and Lyndell. I hooked a big one.After several minutes I got it to shore. Ended up to be a three foot turtle that wasn’t happy and was coming straight at us. Frank said to cut it loose. I didn’t have a knife so he ran up and got it off. I think we quit fishing after that.
