Omar Maldonado Duarte, 61, of Gardner, KS, passed away Oct. 23, 2022 at Olathe Medical Center. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 with the Funeral to follow at 1:00 p.m., both at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Omar was born March 5, 1961 in Michoacan, Mexico to Pedro Maldonado Tuco and Teresa Duarte Arzate. He grew up in Mexico for over half of his life, 53 years to be exact.  He moved to Olathe in 2014 and to Gardner in 2019. Omar worked as a carpet installer here in the United States. Most of his life in Mexico he was a man of business in agriculture and Livestock.  He also was a service provider in transportation. Great man of business.

He married his life companion Alia De La Torre on June 30, 1990. God gave him a great companion, who loved him and was by his side until his last moments. Thanks to their faith, love, dedication to their marriage, they were a great example for many around.

Omar was a man of faith. He believed that his faith would move mountains. Every single day he would live by the word of God and spread the word of God to everyone in his reach. Omar was a member of Casa de Adoracion, Olathe, KS.

 He enjoyed fishing at Hillsdale Lake and reading his Bible. Omar will be dearly missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Omar is survived by his wife, Alia De La Torre; children: Omar, Verenice, Veronica and Kevin Maldonado;
