Mary Louise Holscher, 94, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at Villa St. Francis Catholic Care Center, Olathe, Kansas. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023 with a visitation to follow at 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, Kansas. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2023 at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, Kansas. Mary was born in Emporia, Kansas on September 8, 1928 to Carl Joshua and Ida Louise (Storh) James. She grew up in Emporia and graduated in 1947 from Emporia High School. Mary married Clyde Holscher but later they divorced. She worked at Josten’s in Topeka, Kansas as a picture setter for 10 years. Mary was known for her baking skills, especially decorating cakes for family and friends. She was a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church, Topeka, Kansas. Mary was very artistic and enjoyed drawing. She moved to Spring Hill in 2014 to be near family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son John T. Holscher, siblings: Richard James, Dorothy James, Carlene Hush, Robert James and Earl Claire James and grandson Tyrone. She is survived by her sons Clyde L. (Kathy) Holscher, Navarre, Florida and David Carl (Dianna) Holscher, Ashville, Ohio; daughter Mary D. (John) Price, Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren: Brian, Amy and Nathan and five great-grandchildren.
