Marva Jo (McDaniel) Murphy, 62, De Soto, Kansas passed away Monday, December 23, 2019, at her home. The Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at De Soto Baptist Church, 8655 Copeland Way, De Soto, Kansas 66018. Marva was born in Lawrence, Kansas on December 1, 1957. Her parents are Barbara Joan (Ashburn) Roberts and Marvin Jerome McDaniel. She was a lifelong De Soto resident, graduating from De Soto High School in 1975. She married Roy H. Murphy, Jr. on August 18, 2012 in rural De Soto, Kansas. Marva enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping and water sports. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, family and many friends. Marva worked for many years as a bartender at the Silver Wheel Tavern, De Soto, Kansas. Roy and family invite you to come to the Silver Wheel in De Soto, Kansas to visit, tell stories and share memories after the Celebration at the church ends.
Marva is survived by her husband Roy Murphy; parents Marvin Jerome McDaniel and wife Lois, De Soto, Kansas and Barbara Joan Roberts and husband Gene, Edgerton, Kansas; mother-in-law Betty Cannon, De Soto, Kansas; children Dakota Dale McDaniel, Eldorado, Kansas and McKenzie Ann McDaniel Sexton, Mesa, Arizona; siblings Bill McDaniel and wife Patty, Lenexa, Kansas and Marla Potter and husband Tracy, Baldwin City, Kansas and three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
