Obituary for Marilyn Janene Sullivan

Marilyn Janene Sullivan, 67, Gardner, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Advent Health, Merriam, Kansas. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, Kansas 66030 (913) 856-7111. Marilyn was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 5, 1954 to Ronald Gene and Barbara Jo (Winkler) Carpenter. She grew up in Sunflower Village, Kansas. Marilyn graduated in 1972 from De Soto High School and Johnson County Community College for a year. Marilyn married Robert Reynolds, having four children and lived in Gardner, Kansas and eventually to Holden, Missouri. Marilyn and Clyde W. Sullivan were married in Baldwin City, Kansas on December 18, 1993. She worked at Witco, now ExxonMobil for 12 years and retired in 1996. She devoted her time to reading and studying the bible and especially John Grisham books, taking care of home and family, she was an avid researcher of eschatology and current events. Marilyn was a member of Assembly of God Church and loved the Lord.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Chris Carpenter. She is survived by her husband Clyde, of the home; children: Craig W. (Faith) Sullivan, Olathe, Kansas, Robert D. (Jessica) Reynolds, Ottawa, Kansas, Kip (Leigh) Sullivan, Gardner, Kansas, Derrick E. (Jen) Reynolds, Olathe, Kansas, Keri L. Sullivan, Alta,Wyoming, Candi I. (Mauro) Mueller, La Jolla, California, Sharilyn J. (Jeremiah) Russell, Gardner, Kansas and Jeff L. Reynolds, Gardner, Kansas; brother Ronald G. (Beverly) Carpenter, Branson, Missouri; sister Sharon G. Rogers (Rick), Olathe, Kansas; 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
