Margie was born September 28, 1926 in Garnett, Kansas to Walter Lee Hardesty and Juanita (Stanley) Fischer (previously Hardesty.)
She graduated from Argentine High School in Kansas City, Kansas. She was raised in very poor circumstances, but made the most of things and truly loved life. Margie was a real estate agent for 30 years. She enjoyed playing board games and cards, especially Bridge and Pitch. She used the expression “Whoopee doo” whenever she was excited about something. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and loved being in the nursery with babies and teaching the 2-3 year olds by singing and reading books. Margie was a dedicated walker, walking a mile each day that she could. She believed what you ate was so important for your health and loved honey, nuts, berries and chocolate. She loved yellow roses and the scent of lilacs. Margie loved to meet people and talk to people. She never met a stranger, everyone was her friend and she was a friend to everyone. She loved to share that she had three families: her blood family, her church family and her Creekside family.
Margie was a member of Neighborhood Church in Overland Park, Kansas (formerly First Southern Baptist).
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, two of her children, Fred and Joyce Lovsky; brother Bob Hardesty and husbands Fred Lovsky, Ralph Staples and Ace Helmick.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter Sharon Turley (Shawnee, Kansas); son Mark (Amy) Lovsky (Overland Park, Kansas); her daughter Joyce’s girls that she adopted as daughters: Jamie (Ben) Twaddell, Olathe, Kansas and Heather Staples, Independence, Missouri; 10 grandchildren she was so proud of: Kim (Darrell) Anderson, Jeff (Jeannie) Gardner, Troy (Heather) Gardner, Madison (Nick) Boehler, Jamie (Ben) Twaddell, Heather Staples, Mason Lovsky, Ally Lovsky, Aubrey Lovsky and Meghan Lovsky. She had 20 great-grandchildren she took such joy in: Darrell & Kim Anderson’s kids: Tanner and Skyler; Jeff & Jeannie Gardner’s kids: Julia and Jill; Troy & Heather Gardner’s kids: Dallas (Jake) Wodtke, Bailey, Barrett, Denver, Daphne, Beau and Delilah; Nick & Madison Boehler’s kids: Lexington, Calloway and Copelan; Ben & Jamie Twaddell’s kids: Trenton, Owen and Anna; Heather Staples kids: Gabby, Julian and Anthony. Additionally, she loved the merging of her family with Ace’s family when they married and loved them dearly.
Margie learned about Jesus at a young age and made it her life’s mission to follow Him in all she did. Even in the last hours of her life, she was sharing the gospel of Jesus with her family. She had written in her Bible the words “I’m going home” and that is what she believed. Surrounded in love by her family and pastors, she peacefully went home to be with her Savior, Jesus.
