Obituary for Marceline L. Gibbens (Bradley)

Marceline L. Gibbens, 96, Olathe, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at her home. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, Kansas 66030 (913-856-7111). Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Prairie View Family Church, 27772 W. 135th, Olathe, Kansas 66061. Burial to follow at Bonner Springs Cemetery, Bonner Springs, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association. Marceline was born on November 22, 1923 to John Raymond and Mary Lucille (Irwin) Bradley in Holt, Missouri, where she grew up and graduated from Holt High School. Marceline married Philip “Buzz” William Gibbens, Jr. in Olathe, Kansas on September 19, 1955. She lived in the North Kansas City area then McPherson, Kansas before moving to Olathe in 1957. She worked at the Co-op in Kansas City, Missouri for 14 years. Marceline worked as a bookkeeper for over 30 years at Gibbens Skelly Service Station, Lenexa, Kansas. Marceline was a member of the Gardner First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Auxiliary, De Soto, Kansas. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting, solving word searches and shopping. Above all else, her favorite time was spent with her family.

Marceline was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Wilbur and Robert. She is survived by her husband Philip; daughters Kathleen Denise Martin, Olathe, Kansas and Alicia Gale (Kenny) Hamm, Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren: Mitchell, Adrienne, Russell, Samuel, Nicole, Ursula and Vance and 14 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Lucien, Cheyenne, Ruth, Wyatt, Avada, Erwin, Malachi, Zephaniah, Ryleigh, Madison, Mikayla, Shelby and Brooklyn.
