Loren James Mead, Jr. 93, passed away May 28, 2022 in Idaho. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Spring Hill, Kansas. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com

Loren was born on October 30, 1928 to Loren and Dorothy Mead.  He grew up farming and worked for Bell South for several years.  He was a United States Army Veteran, serving our great country for four years. He raced cars throughout the country.  As he grew older, Loren traveled the country as a rock hound finding, trading, and selling gems from around the world. For the past few years, Loren settled down in Tensed, Idaho, where he worked on some of his gems and gardened.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents; children Todd and Janice and brothers Donald and Wesley.  He is survived by his children: Donald, Loren III, Aneta and husband Adam, Brian and wife Cindy; siblings: Kathline and husband Damon, Camella and husband Dean and Jewell and husband Paul; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
