Obituary for Lois L Heath

Lois Lee (Hendrickson) Heath, 87, of Olathe, KS, passed away Nov. 7, 2020 at her home with family by her side. Memorial service, by invitation only due to Covid regulations, will be held 11:00 am Wed., Nov. 11, 2020 at Grace United Methodist Church, 11485 Ridgeview Rd., Olathe, KS. Born December 23, 1932 in Greenwood, MO, along with her twin sister Phyllis Langdon. Lois lived in Olathe, KS since 1972, with prior residences in Independence, MO for 22 years, Overland Park, Prairie Village and Emporia, KS. Lois graduated Northeast High School, Kansas City, MO, in 1951, Kansas City Junior College with an Associate in Commerce degree in 1953. She worked for Macy’s, C.P.A. Firms as a statistical typist and office worker for 15 years. Lois retired from Johnson County Register of Deeds office where she was a Senior Clerk in 1989. Lois was always active in churches that she belonged to. She taught Sunday School class to mostly 5th graders, for 20 years. She was active in Women’s Fellowship groups, Bible Study, quilting, sewing, and visiting ‘shut ins’ in their home or nursing homes. Lois planned crafts, day trips, and singing in schools, college and some church choirs. The church was her life and she also loved being with family and traveling all over the USA. She was a loving mother, wife, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was an assistant Girl-Scout leader and belonged to the Eastern Star of Independence, MO, Chapter 329 since 1955. Her kindness and compassion will always be remembered by all and she will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Irene Hendrickson; her first husband, Leroy Joe Allcock in 1964; her second husband, Dr. Clarence “Huck” Heath, DVM in 1996; her first son-in-law, Michael E. Ruhlman, CPA; her brother, Rev. Lloyd Keith Hendrickson; her twin sister, Phyllis Langdon; stepson Randy Heath, and special friend, Keith Tolson. Lois is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Vance Lively, Auburn, KS; her extended family in the Denver area, stepson, Richard (and Mary Pat) Heath; grandchildren Ryan (Peggy) Heath, and Gwin (Ryan) Howsam; her great-grandchildren Kris and Joey Heath and Finn and Drake Howsam; and her adopted family, Phyllis Hood and family; many nieces and nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, special friends and neighbors.

Special thanks to Dr. David Lee who provided care to Lois for over 29 years. She had wonderful care providers through Olathe Health. Also special thanks to Olathe Health Hospice Care for the compassionate care they provided during Lois’ final days.
