Obituary for Kelvin Keith Irvin

Kelvin Keith Irvin, 80, Stockton, Missouri passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, August 15, 2020. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Bland-Brumback Funeral Home, 306 S. High Street, Stockton, Missouri. Visitation 11:00-1:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, Kansas 66083 (913) 592-2244. Private family graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Keith was born September 3, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to Homer E. and Nellie (Powell) Irvin. He attended Stanley High School with the class of 1957. Keith started a bricklayer apprenticeship with Local 18 immediately afterwards. He was a fourth generation brick mason and very proud of his occupation. He laid brick throughout Kansas City for most of his adult life. Working for his family was his whole being. He met Malinda Reid in the fall of 1958 and they were married in 1960. To this union, two sons and a daughter were born. They were married 25 years. In October 2000, Keith married his love, Patricia Teasley and inherited another set of kids. Keith retired to Stockton, Missouri to Poverty Knob to putter and attend flea markets with his pipe and overalls.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Tiss, Tine, Sonny and Wanda. He is survived by his wife Pat; brother Darrell; children: Kelvin Keith (Leann) Irvin II, Kimberly Kay (Kirk) Schussler, Homer Earl (Carla) Irvin, Pamela Kay (Kevin) Metcalf, Teresa Cathleen (Brad) Brooks and Gary S. Gatlin; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren he loved to dote on and spoil with his treasures, along with a passel of nieces and nephews.
