Obituary for Jerry Lee Renfro

Jerry Lee Renfro, 70, Olathe, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be 10:00 am Friday, May 7, 2021 with the Funeral Service to follow, 11:00 am at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, Kansas 66030 (913) 856-7111. Burial with Military Honors, Olathe American Legion at Gardner Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bruce Funeral Home to help with Funeral Expenses. Jerry was born in Hartville, Missouri on August 12, 1950 to Robert “Bob” Lee and Dorothy May (Lansdown) Renfro. He grew up in Hartville, then moved to Kansas City, Kansas as a teenager before moving to Olathe, Kansas in 1986. Jerry is a veteran of the United States Army. Jerry married Billie J. Pankey on December 31, 1986 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a truck driver for Supervan Dry Freight, Kansas City, Kansas, retiring in 2015. Jerry enjoyed playing pool, hunting, fishing and having fish fries. He was a carpenter and scrap man. Jerry’s favorite time was spent being with his family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bobby Stephenson. He is survived by his children: Penny Sue, Wichita, Kansas, Keith Pankey, Bates City, Missouri, Heather (Don) Ohlfs, Gardner, Kansas, Samantha Larson, Olathe, Kansas and Mercedes Foster, Olathe, Kansas; siblings: Donald (Mellia) Renfro, Edgerton, Kansas, Darrell (Linda) Stephenson, Iowa City, Iowa, Carroll Dean (Charlene) Renfro , Pomona, Kansas and Richard (Anita) Renfro, Ottawa, Kansas; six granddaughters; nine grandsons; one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
