Jerome “Jerry” Eugene Floyd, Sr., 73, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at his home. Private Family service will be Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Jerry was born on December 24, 1946 in Tacoma, Washington to Pearl “Blackie” and Alta (Roberts) Floyd. Jerry grew up in Kirksville, Missouri and graduated from Raytown High School. He earned an Associate of Arts degree from Longview Community College. Jerry married Roxie A. Witt Eastland on November 18, 2000 in Olathe, Kansas. They moved to Spring Hill, Kansas in 2005. Jerry was a truck driver for Yellow Freight, Kansas City, Missouri currently known as YRC. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Living Proof Church and VFW both of Paola, Kansas. Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing cards and country cruising.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Denny Smith. He is survived by his wife Roxie of the home; children: Jerry (Chau) Floyd, Jr., Wylie, Texas, Scott (Kim) Floyd, Humboldt, Arizona, Kendall Eastland, Edgerton, Kansas, Jody (Rodney) Kurtz, Gardner, Kansas and Aaron (Jana) Eastland, Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Jeremy, Tommy, Caleb, Mason, Makayla, Ally, Cameron and Erica and great-grandchildren Braxton and Emma.
