Jeff was born on February 11, 1976, in Shawnee, Kansas, to Jarold and Sharon (Schlund) Owens. He grew up in Edgerton and graduated from Gardner Edgerton High School in 1994. Jeff married Cricket Weeks on January 6, 1996, in Edgerton, Kansas. They lived in Gardner for 17 years and moved to Spring Hill 10 years ago.

Jeff worked for Verizon as a solutions architect and took great pride in serving his clients at the highest level. Jeff had many hobbies and passions. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, archery, judo and jiu jitsu, baseball, and being a member of the Kansas City Gaelic Athletic Club hurling team. Jeff also enjoyed being involved with his children’s activities, especially baseball and jiu jitsu.

Jeff was easily approachable, turning strangers into lifelong friends while maintaining valuable friendships begun in grade school. His keen sense of humor and ability to make people laugh until they hurt will always be remembered by all who knew him. Happily, his sharp wit and ability to see humor in any situation lives on boldly through each of his children.

Jeff enjoyed time spent with his parents, brother and extended family who were all important to him.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cricket; children Tori, Jonah and Jason all of the home; parents Jerry and Sharon Owens, Louisburg, Kansas; brother Rick Owens, Stillwater, Oklahoma, grandmother Doris Thompson, Joplin, Missouri, nephews Ian, Hunter, Tyler, and Ryan, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
