James “Jim” William McKean, 64, Olathe, Kansas passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 650 E. Madison, Gardner, Kansas. Burial in Gardner Cemetery, Gardner, Kansas. Jim was born August 29, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas to William Frederick and Dorothy Evelyn (Perkins) McKean. He graduated in 1976 from Bonner Springs High School, Bonner Springs, Kansas and attended Kansas City Kansas Community College. Jim married Rhonda M. Bell on June 30, 1978 in Edwardsville, Kansas. He worked as a design technician for George Butler & Associates for over 25 years. Jim was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Gardner, Kansas. He enjoyed photography, painting and blacksmithing metal works. Jim had a passion for cooking and was known for his cinnamon rolls and his famous rolls at holidays. Jim volunteered at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop, Olathe, Kansas. He loved classic rock and roll music and old classic movies, especially Alfred Hitchcock.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Rhonda of the home; children: W. Jeremy McKean, Melissa (Rob) Erker and Jennifer (Michael) Wenger all of Olathe, Kansas; sister: Patricia Bishop, Garland, Texas; Brother: John McKean, Drexel, Missouri and grandchildren: Emerson, Zoey and Hendrix.
