Irene Agnes Sweatt, 99, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away Sunday December 25, 2022 at home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date during the Spring. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com

Irene was born January 12, 1923 to Edward and Elizabeth (Jordison) Reed in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She grew up in Iowa and graduated from Otho High School. After high school, Irene attended Drake University and earned a master's degree. She taught in the public school system with elementary and jr. high students.  Irene married James C. Sweatt on April 26, 1946 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles and traveling. Irene was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Coalville, Iowa. She was involved in several teacher organizations and was a member of Eastern Star.

. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband James; children Terry Lynn Grayson and Richard Reed Sweatt and siblings: Verna, Marlys, Richard and Merle.
