Obituary for Gregory Paul Cooper

Gregory Paul Cooper, 73, of Louisburg, KS, passed away Feb. 10, 2020 at Olathe Medical Center. Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date, with inurnment at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Children's Craniofacial Association www.ccakids.org in support of Apert Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Gregory was born September 17, 1946 in Plainfield, NJ to Claude Mason and Maude Viola (Carrier) Cooper. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1969. Gregory was retired from the Kansas Highway Department in Port of Entry, where he worked for 30 years. Greg ("Coop") had an infectious laugh and demonstrated a life of perseverance and strength of character. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and adoring nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Gregory is survived by his siblings: Babette Chaney, Guilford, CT, Janice and husband Kenneth Merrill, Leawood, KS and Thomas and wife Joyce Cooper, Ft. Collins, CO; and nieces: Beth Merrill, Carole Prosser, Diana Chaney and their families.
