Obituary for Gloria May Donohue

Gloria May Donohue, 81, Olathe, Kansas passed away at her home Thursday, January 19, 2023. Graveside Inurnment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Prairie Center Cemetery, Eudora, Kansas.

Gloria was born in Denver, Colorado on July 28, 1941 to Ralph Joseph and Mary Laverne (Kennedy) Aldridge. She grew up in Muncie, Kansas and graduated from Turner High School. Gloria married George William Donohue in Kansas City, Kansas on March 5, 1960. She worked in accounts payable for Yellow Freight, Leawood, Kansas for 20 years. They lived in Kansas City, MO before moving to Mission, KS and for 45 years lived in Olathe, KS.

Gloria and George traveled to historical places together. She was an avid Quilter and they traveled yearly to the National Quilt festival. Gloria loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren, playing games, going to Branson. She loved Irish music, especially Daniel O’Donnell.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, George of the home; daughters: Jill (Earl) Allen, Spring Hill, Kansas, Jane Collins (Keith Hunter) Olathe, Kansas and Julie (Randy) Meeder, Spring Hill, Kansas; sister Susie Julian, Kansas City, Kansas and 6 grandchildren: Audrey, Kendra (Dallas), Evan (Kathleen), Logan, Grady and Tate and 4 great grandchildren.

Special thanks to Gloria’s daughter, Julie and Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care and compassion during the last month of Gloria’s life.
