George was born on February 4, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Dolson Dwight and Esther Lucille (Medlin) Young. He lived most of his life in Olathe, Kansas. He retired from Harley Davidson, Kansas City, Missouri in 2015 where he held the lead quality control position. George also was elected and served as the president of the Employee Riders Association.

George went on to continue his passion for riding, fishing, and target shooting. His target shooting ultimately became his second life. He attained his NRA trainer certification and became the range master at the Hillsdale Range and Training Facility. While there, George helped multiple people from the younger ones to the older ones. He always enjoyed being able to help a newcomer learn how to shoot skeet or trap. George was also quite a good marksman himself.
George was very likable and fun-loving, and lived his life his own way. He was especially happy to watch his beloved Chiefs win SuperBowl LIV. George enjoyed listening to music, playing the saxophone with a few different bands over the years, riding motorcycles, rebuilding engines, working on his long-distance target shooting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
George was preceded in death by his parents; brother David Young and infant twin brothers, Jimmie and Johnny. He is survived by children: Colleen (David) Dunlap, Leawood, Kansas; Katie (Shawn) Gropper, Odessa, Missouri; and Crystal (Dimitrie) Gregory, St. Louis, Missouri; brothers Dwight and Doug Young and seven grandchildren.
