Frances Josephine “Jo” Braun, 97, of Baldwin City, KS, formerly of Edgerton, passed away Jan. 31, 2021 at her home. Her wishes were to be a part of the KU Medical Center Donor Program. Private family Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am, Fri. Feb., 5, 2021 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Baldwin City, KS 66006. Inurnment at a later date at St. Columbine Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Columbine Cemetery, Edgerton, KS which may be sent to the funeral home.. Jo was born August 18, 1923 to Frank and Margaret (Bourke) Jardon of Baldwin City. She graduated from Baldwin City High School in 1941. After high school, Jo worked at Procter and Gamble in Kansas City, KS. On June 24th 1950, Jo married Ray Braun. They lived their entire married life in Edgerton.
Jo was dedicated to her family and her church, Edgerton Assumption Catholic Church. She loved to garden, can vegetables, sew, do crossword puzzles, play cards, bake bread, help others, laugh, watch Wheel of Fortune and spend time with family. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by children: William Francis “Bill,” Braun, Baldwin City, KS, Mary Jo Sutton (Gary), Topeka, KS, Teresa Braun Schrimp (Mark), Portland, OR, Stephen Raymond Braun (Helene), Naperville, IL and Linda Braun Anderson (Andy), Kansas City, MO; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and her sister, Marcella Roos, Appleton City, MO and sister-in-law, Lois Roberts, Bonner Springs, KS.
