Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Bryan

We mourn the loss of our sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Bryan, of Gardner, KS, who passed away March 17, 2023.  Betty grew up in Union, New Jersey. She moved to the Midwest in 1986 and planted her roots in Johnson County, Kansas.  Betty enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with friends and family.  Betty was a grill-master who took great pride in sharing her love of food with others.  Betty was an animal lover and the definition of a dog person.  Over the years, Betty always had at least one dog companion by her side, at the ready for adventures and table scraps.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Edward F. Nemchik and Mary Nemchik, and her nephew, Joseph Latora.  She is survived by her siblings Catherine Nemchik, Deborah Smethers and Edward P. Nemchik (wife Gladys).  Betty’s nieces and nephew (Gina, Lindy, Holly, Jessica, Tara and Daniel) will remember her as the aunt who loved without limits.  She had an abundance of love for her stepdaughters, Brandi and Carlei, as well as many friends and relatives.  Betty loved being an aunt and spending time with all the children in her life, including great nieces and nephews. From her numerous pajama parties, fishing trips and holiday dinners where she would out do everyone, she brought love and laughter to many.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner KS. May 6 2023 from 10:00-11:00 am.
