Obituary for Donald Lee Lobner

Donald Lee Lobner, Jr., 62, Buckner, Missouri passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Cremation with a Celebration of Life at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com.

Donald was born in Fort Meade, Maryland on December 13, 1957. He grew up in the De Soto area with his parents and three brothers. Directly after graduating from De Soto High School in 1975, Donald relocated to North Carolina with his young family and served four active years in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Sergeant. During his duty, he completed the necessary training to maintain the J52 military plane. Donald was always known for his mechanical skills and expertise. Donald found himself owning and operating Lobner Replacement Transmission Company in Oak Grove, Missouri for approximately 20 years. In 2012, Donald moved to Buckner, Missouri to be closer to his shop to dedicate his time and efforts to his business. Donald had an amazing passion for life and people. He never knew a stranger. Racing with the Lobner family was one of his deepest passions. He cherished each race and the participants. His other interests included listening to classic rock and roll, classic 60’s cars, the Kansas City Chiefs, and spending time with friends and family . Donald Lee Lobner Jr was always the life of the party. Donald will be proudly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, loyal friend, proud patriot, and US Marine veteran.

Donald was preceded in death by his brother James Lobner and nieces Jeryka Lobner Lawrence and Joann Lobner. He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lobner Sr; daughters Anna (Randy) Hobbs and Valarie (Joel) Adams both residents of Gardner, Kansas; brothers John (Becky) Lobner, De Soto, Kansas and Michael (Marlene) Lobner, Olathe, Kansas and five grandchildren: Jordan and Madison Hobbs, Dylan Blesie, Isabelle Adams and Jacob Adams. Further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
