Donald William Holtgraver, Sr. 78, of Spring Hill, KS passed away July 11, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be held Thursday July 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columbia Catholic Cemetery, Gardner, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson County Fair in Gardner, KS. Don was born September 19, 1941 on the family farm in Spring Hill, KS to Oscar William and Adriana Agnes (Porsch) Holtgraver. He grew up in Spring Hill. He married Anna Lee Hamilton on August 17, 1963 in Olathe, KS at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Don grew up farming in the Johnson County Area and loved his John Deere tractors. In the mid sixties, Orin Trabert needed help at his service station in Olathe so he began working there while still farming. In 1970, Don and his wife purchased the Phillip's 66 Station. He had stations in two locations in Olathe until he sold the business in 1991. At that time he started managing a station in Gardner, KS for the Taylor Oil Company. He retired in 2014. He loved country music shows.
He will be missed by family and friends, especially his good friends Charles and Deann Dageforde.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cheryl Deann Holtgraver. Don is survived by his wife Anna Lee; children: Donald W. Holtgraver Jr., Spring Hill, KS, Theresa L. Holtgraver, Spring Hill, KS, Michael R. Holtgraver and wife Shannon, Paola, KS and his only grandchild (daughter), McKenna Marie Holtgraver, Paola, KS; brother, Robert Holtgraver and wife Judith; brother in-law and sister in-law, Gary and Betty Beatty.
