Obituary for Dennis "Brooksy" Brooks

Dennis “Brooksy” Brooks, 66, of Gardner, KS, passed away Feb. 04, 2020 at Medical Lodge of Gardner. His body was donated to KU Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the VFW in Ottawa, KS. In preparation for the services the family is asking for memory cards to be mailed to Dennis Brooks PO Box 141, Olathe, KS 66051. Memorial contributions may be made to Spastic Paraplegia Foundation. Dennis was born Jan. 28, 1954 in Ottawa, KS to Raymond O. and Betty F. (Brumley) Brooks. He graduated from Ottawa High School in 1972. Dennis was a self-employed auto technician which lead into working with the Smith County Law Field and was well respected. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, KS was the family church, where there will be services at a later date. Dennis never met a stranger and will be missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Dennis is survived by his daughter, Mandi Denise Jeffus, Tyler, TX; Siblings: Gordon and Vicki Brooks, Susan Brooks-Hathaway, Karen and David Schmoe and Julie and Jerry Bugner; grandchildren: Kaley Denise Massey, Brittany Kay and Bryan Michael Luman; great-granddaughter, Blair Masey.
