Deke Austin Belden, 41, of Olathe, Kansas went to be with Jesus on Monday, December 13, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Life Mission Church, 16111 S. Lone Elm Road, Olathe, Kansas. Deke was born May 2, 1980 in Belleville, Illinois to David Cassidy and Sherri Lynn (Austin) Belden. Deke grew up in St. Elmo, Illinois. After graduating from high school, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Illinois State University and a Master’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University. He worked for the family oil business for several years before moving to Kansas, where he met and fell in love with his Kansas Princess, Autumn L. Good-Turney and they were married at Life Mission on May 26, 2013. Deke owned and operated D&Z Exploration, Inc with his dad, David, and brother, Zane.
Deke was a member of Life Mission Church where he was very active in missions and the worship team. He and his wife enjoyed serving together in several ministries including Homeless ministries, marriage ministries and supporting those in need. He always found a way to humbly serve, was actively involved in Kansas City Dream Center, and mission trips to several countries. Deke had many hobbies and especially loved bow hunting. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, investor and enjoyed Jiu Jitsu. Deke’s most important time was spent with his family, especially all of his niblings (nieces and nephews): Cassidy, Brinley, Lincoln, Indi, Ira, Axton, Brix, Zoah, Boone and Ellowyn. He also had a special love for his Boston terriers, Echo and Bravo.
Deke had a servant’s heart that was evident in his love and obedience to Jesus Christ, and in his unwavering marriage to his wife Autumn. As a son, brother, husband and uncle, Deke lifted up all those around him.
Deke was preceded in death by infant Baby Belden. He is survived by his wife Autumn; parents David and Sherri, St. Elmo, Illinois; siblings: Hannah Belden (Chris) and Zane Belden (Bethany), Scottsdale, Arizona and Nina Flowers (Matt), Irving, Illinois; mother-in-law Lori Good-Turney and father-in-law William Issac Turney, Kansas City, Kansas; sister-in-law Savanna Good-Turney, Olympia, Washington; brother-in-law Mason Good-Turney (Val) Denver, Colorado and brother-in-law Billy Turney (Samantha), Tulsa, Oklahoma and Aundrea Turney, Skiatook,OK.
