Buck was born August 27, 1942 in Gardner, Kansas to Claude William Kauffman, Sr. and Caroline Louise (Hannon) Kauffman. He graduated from Olathe High School in 1960. Buck married Connie Lynette Dorst on November 27, 1965 at the Presbyterian Church in Olathe, Kansas. Buck was a metal polisher at his family’s business, Performance Plating. He was the third generation to work there. Buck was an avid drag racer and spent most weekends with his family and “racing family” at Kansas City International Raceway. Buck loved restoring antique cars and doing yard work. He took special joy in his three grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Kauffman. He is survived by his wife, Connie Lynette Kauffman of the home; son, Brian (Shannon) Kauffman of Olathe; siblings: Carol Abell, Richard Kauffman, and Dennis Kauffman; and three grandchildren: Blayne, Alex, and Gage Kauffman.
