Cherrie was born on May 6, 1966 to Burley Lee Hoover and Charlotte Jean Strawhacker. She grew up in Olathe and graduated from Olathe North High School.  Cherrie worked for 15 years in the laundry department for Good Samaritan Society, Olathe, Kansas. In her free time, Cherrie enjoyed word search games.

Cherrie was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her brothers Richard D. (Connie) Watson, Gardner, Kansas and Gerald W. (Joy) Watson, Dunegan, Missouri; stepfather Norman E. Bieker, Gardner, Kansas and nephews and nieces: Evelyn, Madison, Brandon, Saphira, Kiristen and Christopher.
