Obituary for Carolyn Sue Taylor

Carolyn Sue Taylor, 79, of Olathe, KS, passed away Feb. 18, 2020. Visitation 11:00 am Tue., Feb. 25, 2020 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Carolyn was born Sept. 18, 1940 in Willow Springs, MO to William Frank and Pauline Viola (Head) Forrester. She grew up in Willow Springs, moved to KCMO, then to Edgerton and finally to Olathe. Carolyn worked at Exxon Oil in Olathe as a lab technician and in accounting for 20 years; retiring in 2004. She was previously a fire fighter and dispatcher for JOCO Fire and Rescue in Mission, KS. Carolyn loved to go to Dinner Theater and to watch her grandchildren at the Olathe Community Center. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and doing crochet. Carolyn will be missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters: Polly Wooldridge and Kimberly Owen and brother, Jim Forrester. Carolyn is survived by her children: Sherrie Williams and William Wooldridge, both of Olathe, KS and Teresa and husband Shawn Eddy, Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren: Shannon, Jennifer, James, Brittany, Samantha, Miranda, and Dalton; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Bonita Lou Malone, Loudon, TN and Frankie Leigh Girdley, West Plains, MO.
