Carolyn Jo Ann Rood, 71, Olathe, Kansas passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Graveside service will 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Antioch Cemetery, Spring Hill, Kansas.  Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com

Carolyn was born the 12th of 13 children to Clifford Jim and Ruby Marie (Frazee) McDaniel on March 9, 1951 in Gardner, Kansas. She grew up in Spring Hill, Kansas where she attended school.  On May 14, 2004 Carolyn married Robert Kim Rood in Olathe, Kansas.  She worked at Tobler Flowers and for 43 years cleaning homes. Carolyn enjoyed home decorating, antiquing, quilting, gardening and canning.  She especially liked to get together with her sisters to create craft projects.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Harley McDaniel, Loren McDaniel, Denora June Otto, Alice Maxine Wright, Gertrude Watkins, Harold Dean McDaniel, Cecil McDaniel, Deloris McDaniel, J.C. McDaniel and Imogene Brooks. She is survived by her husband Robert Rood of the home; daughter Rebecca Lin (Robert) Wininger, Wichita, Kansas; stepson Robert Kim (Alyxandria) Rood, Jr, Olathe, Kansas; stepdaughter Lindsey Marie (Kyle) Rood-Madl, Pensacola, Florida; sisters Joyce Siliva, Nevada and Marilyn (Eddy) Helt, Ozark, Missouri; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
