Obituary for Brian Christopher Roberts

Brian Christopher Roberts, 47, Gardner, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020. Visitation will be 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 with a Celebration of Life following at 11 a.m. at the New Life Community Church, 17935 S. Moonlight Rd, Gardner, Kansas. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brian C. Roberts Memorial Fund at Central Bank of the Midwest (for his children). Brian was born on August 24, 1972 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Stephen Lee and Norma Louise (Montgomery) Roberts. He grew up in Olathe, Kansas and graduated from Olathe North High School in 1991. He served in the United States Navy from 1992-2000. He received an HVAC Certification from Johnson County Community College. Brian married Kerri L. Pyle on April 30, 2005 in Olathe. They moved to Gardner 14 years ago. He was a valued employee for Hickman Heating and Cooling, Gardner, Kansas. Brian was a member of the New Life Community Church. He collected old mantle clocks, hunted for crystal rocks in Arkansas, and combed Florida beaches for shells. Brian found creative ways to make family and friends draw close together. He was always in the kitchen at family gatherings helping his mom or mother-in-law feed the crowds. He designed and made his own meat smoker and recipes for meat rubs. He turned his backyard into an orchard of apple, plum, peach, and cherry trees. His children will remember a dad who took the time to roller skate, play with Legos, and tell stories in character voices. Brian will be remembered for his integrity, his love for God, and his devotion to his family.

Brian is survived by his wife Kerri, his children Briley and Blane Roberts of the home, Gardner Kansas; daughter Ashley Roberts, Olathe, Kansas; parents Stephen and Norma Roberts, Drexel, Missouri; brothers David (Beth) Roberts, Topeka, Kansas and Justin (Heather) Roberts, Oxford, Pennsylvania, father-in-law and mother-in-law Dwain and Carolyn Pyle, De Soto, Kansas, brother-in-law David (Jena) Pyle, Gardner, Kansas and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family. He will be greatly missed by his family and community.
