Brenda Marie Triebel, 63, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 peacefully with her family by her side at Clover Care, Shawnee, Kansas. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 virus. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Monticello United Methodist Church. Brenda was born December 12, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas to Edward John and Maudetta Gray (Dale) Zielinski. She grew up in Bonner Springs, Kansas moving with her family to De Soto, Kansas as a seventh grader. Brenda graduated from De Soto High School in 1974 and earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Johnson County Community College. She married Michael Edwin Triebel on June 28, 1975 in Eudora, Kansas. She worked at Standard Oil for eight years as a bookkeeper before leaving to stay at home to raise her children. Later, Brenda worked at De Soto State Bank, where she was a bookkeeper for 15 years. Brenda was an avid reader who enjoyed being outside at the farm. She cherished family time, being with friends, observing sunsets and visiting the mountains of Colorado. Brenda was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. She will be missed by family and friends.

Brenda was preceded by her parents; brother Edward Zielinski, Jr. and father-in-law Robert Triebel. She is survived by her loving husband Mike of 45 years; children Melissa Lee (Jesse) Weedon, De Soto, Kansas and Matthew Edwin Triebel, Saipan; sister Debra (Dave) Peterman, Peculiar, Missouri; mother-in-law Vivian Triebel, Lenexa, Kansas; brother-in-law David Triebel, Linwood, Kansas; sister-in-law Debra (Ken) Jenks, Edwardsville, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.
