Thomas Ramone Wood, 35, Joplin, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Gardner, Kansas. Their baby daughter, Bella Nichole Wood passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation for Ashley, Thomas and Bella will be 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, Kansas (913) 592-2244. Ashley was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 3, 1988 to Damon Ray Heartsill and Vicky Lynn Pace. She attended school in Spring Hill, Kansas and Ottawa, Kansas. Ashley worked as a manager for Sonic. She enjoyed playing Monopoly. Ashley was very artistic and had a passion for cross stitching.

Thomas was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on January 1, 1988 to William Chad Wood and Criselda Maria (Maldonado) Wood. He graduated from Foyil High School, Foyil, Oklahoma in 2006. Thomas graduated from JCCC in 2008 and went to DeVry University to study criminal justice. He worked as an intake processor supervisor for 15 years at Apria Healthcare until moving to Joplin to work for Jasper Products. Thomas enjoyed football, basketball, frisbee golf and gaming. He loved the Dallas Cowboys. Thomas was incredibly smart, very artistic and loved music of all genres. He went on a mission trip when he was 18 to help survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Thomas was family oriented and loved his daughters deeply.

Thomas and Ashley had four daughters: Brooklynn Shay age 17, Brianna Anne age 14, Bayleigh Kimberlyn age 10 and infant Bella Nichole.

Ashley is preceded in death by infant daughter Bella, followed by the death of her husband Thomas Wood; father Damon Ray Heartsill; brothers Nickolas Brey and Brandon Pace. She is survived by daughters: Brooklynn, Brianna and Bayleigh; mother Vicky Pace (Pete); siblings Destiny and Dana Pace.

Thomas is preceded in death by his wife Ashley Heartsill-Wood; infant daughter Bella; mother Criselda Maria Garner; brother Christian Garner; grandparents Chester and Patricia Wood, Severo and Epiphania Maldonado and uncles Bernard and Andre Davis. He is survived by daughters: Brooklynn, Brianna and Bayleigh; parents Chad (Pops) and Candace (Mama) Wood; sisters: Kimberly (Graham) Snodgrass, Taz (David) Armenta, Faith Wood, Desirray Demuth, Amber Garner and Samantha (Cody) Dixon; brother Bobby (Katie) Garner; numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles and many friends.

Thomas, Ashley and Bella will be greatly missed by family and friends.
