Angelia Starr Essex, 28, of Mission, KS passed away May 31, 2021. Visitation 9:00 – 11:00 am Mon., June 7, 2021, at Gardner Church of the Nazarene. Angelia was born June 26, 1992 in Ajax, Ontario, Canada to Scott Charles and Deborah Jean Essex. She moved to the area in 1996 and graduated from Olathe North High School. Angelia earned her Associate Degree from Johnson County Community College. She worked as a service advisor at Molle Volkswagon and culinary chef in the restaurant industry. Angelia enjoyed cooking and was a standup comedian at The Harley’s Hideaway Bar and Grill. She was an avid dog lover and rescued crippled and disabled dogs and cared for them. Angelia loved to paint, drive stick automobiles and play board games. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Scott and Robin Essex, Edgerton, KS and mother, Deborah Essex, Overland Park KS; fiancé, Mason Hans; siblings: Chrisann Rene Latham, Overland Park, KS, Anthony Lenn Vasquez, Edgerton, KS, Hope IV Eternity Gamez, Olathe, KS, Matthew JB Gilmore, Edgerton, KS, Chazz Rockwell Essex, Olathe, KS, Angela Chora, Olathe, KS, Faith Toynbee, Overland Park, KS, Ashton Bareng Overland Park, KS, and Nigel Bareng, Overland Park, KS; grandparents: Melvin and Lola Mae Essex, Edgerton and Norma Jean Glenn, Wichita, KS, Step-grandparents Kenneth and Joyce Thomsen.
