Obituary for Alden Lee Fish Sr.

Alden was born April 16, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas to Eugene Paul and Ida Winiferd Z. (Pitts) Fish. He grew up in Rosedale, Kansas and graduated from Rosedale High School. After high school Alden joined the Navy in 1952; attending the Navy School of Music where he played the sousaphone. One of his proudest moments was performing in the Eisenhower parade. He then traveled the world on the Allen M Summner DD-692 from 1953 - 1956. He returned home in 1956 where he married Joann Jones. Alden enjoyed his career in the commercial baking world where he looked forward to his daily interaction with grocers, restaurateurs and customers in general. After retirement Alden enjoyed woodworking, ceramics, yard work and especially his grandchildren.

Alden was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: William Fish, Warren Fish, Robert Fish and Clarice Rose LaGore.  He is survived by his wife Joann of the home; children: Alden (Tara) Fish, Jr., Ottawa, Kansas, Julie (Jay) Fish-White, Edgerton, Kansas, Patrick ( Carol) Fish, Gladstone, Missouri and Kellie (Frank) Fish, Gardner, Kansas; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
