Albert Lane, Jr., 100, Lenexa, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Overland Park Regional Hospital, Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, Kansas 66030 (913) 856-7111. Private family funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kansas. Albert was born on May 31, 1920 to Albert and Mary Olivia (Baker) Lane, Sr. in Durham, Oklahoma. He graduated from De Soto High School in 1939. Albert was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Darlene M. Drury on September 23, 1945 in De Soto, Kansas. He worked as a switchman on the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years. Albert was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Olathe, Kansas. He was a woodworker, creating clocks and a sleigh and he even built his own home with some help of his family. Albert enjoyed watching birds and was an avid vegetable gardener.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene in 2009, siblings: Wilmer E. Lane, Ival Lane Midyett, Floyd R. and Robert Lane. He is survived by his children: Marsha Coonce, Marianne (Steve) Kingsford and Albert L. (Annabelle) Lane; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
